I’m guessing there must be one of those in the titan stronghold, so I went there. I gave the blue ore to the smith and he asked me to recover a ceremonial titan weapon for him. She is much, much tougher than the demon I just killed. Zhethron asked me to find out what her intentions are, but when I ask, she attacks me, so I’m guessing the only way to finish that quest is to actually kill her. While I was there, I also tried to confront the new dragon that moved in. The first thing I did in Kva was to get the blue ore that blacksmith in Goldcrag asked me for. Of course, I returned the book to the librarian first, which got me some coin and a nice scarab which provides battle frenzy to the user. Most of my uncompleted quests are in the Kva lands, so I went there next. In one of the closets near the book, I also found another charm that increases my lockpick and unlock charm skills by 1, which is also very, very nice. Sadly, I have no one to use the halberd, so It will have to sit in my pack. For this feat, I got a nice halberd and a charm which increases my magic damage just by being in my bags.
While I was at his tower, I also tried and successfully killed Beloch the Scourge. She then asked me to go recover a book from that wizard who created the shadow beast. First I cleared the stacks in the upper tower of Avadon of the undead, as requested by the librarian. I understand that special enemies will be harder than regular mobs, but heavily stacking them to basically turn the fight into a reload-and-try-yet-another-strategy-to-maybe-survive-three-rounds-this-time is a poor way to impliment that idea.Now that I had everyone back together, I decided to put my main mission on hold and clear some of the old quests I missed. _And_ get battle frenzied constantly by Helma. And while we're at it, let's give her 4 golems that cleave all the time. That should make for a legit challenge and not an overpowered "here, figure this pile of ♥♥♥♥ out" on-the-nose jab. High Initiate Helma yes, let's have some mage with 3 attacks and constant daze/charm/battle frenzy. Oh, the joy of watching this ♥♥♥♥brick brainless NPC keep running in, being showered in constant aoes and cone attacks that inadvertantly keep pelting my team who's at a distance trying to snipe while staying away from such a flurry of attacks but to no avail.
AVADON THE BLACK FORTRESS CHARM PLUS
I just love having a quest where I follow some dumb ♥♥♥♥ NPC around to kill spiders, only to end at a nest with 5 aoe/cone attackers plus the special who's inherently frenzied that also aoe/cones and summons yet another spider. because she's going to regain health, become battle frenzied, and start blasting you with her spells -again.
And on top of it, she's going to keep tossing an AoE/cone every turn or two.īut, if you get through that and inflict another 800 damage, then it's all good. Yes, let's have it take like 800 damage before we flip the switch that auto-terrifies you if you melee her or her summon. Neither is having a shaman, whom has so many HP that a 70+ crit knocks a hair off of her bar, become progressively harder as she loses more blood. Having some mage auto-teleport counter-clockwise along 4 magic circles after taking X amount of damage, while auto-summoning and auto-attacking before deciding to heal is NOT creative. To me, this feels more like a poor substitute for any kind of creative/strategic boss fights. Or they're overpowered, inherently battle frenzied, and have overpowered henchmen. Double AoE or double cone attacks, maybe buffing all of their henchmen before healing them all.Īnd if they're not doing that, they're incredibly overpowered _and_ have a handful of almost overpowered henchmen as well. Then, suddenly, whatever you're fighting is inherently Battle Frenzied, moving all over the place and attacking twice. Playing on Hard difficult, I've observed the following:Įverything is pretty much easy as hell until you come upon any kind of special/boss fight.
